...REVISITED, REVAMPED, REDONE: THIS IS ME...

It was a struggle to make this layout the first time, so I wasn't crazy about doing it again. There's always a weird feeling when I'm focusing on myself.

There are a whopping 2 changes made to this layout. I changed the banner background and put one of the photos on a more subtle piece of paper as I felt the patterned paper was a little too busy to back a photo.

...REVISITED, REVAMPED, REDONE: 80'S CHICK...

Ah, the 80's. What a fabulous time.

Okay, I don't really know. I was in elementary school a majority of that time, so I didn't really get to enjoy it. But, it was an easy period to recreate for a girl for Spirit Day. And it was a fun layout to create too.

But just as video killed the radio star, this layout was lost due to technical difficulties, so I had the pleasure of reliving the 80s again for an hour or so.

Sometimes when I create my pages, I will hide a layer so that I can better work with a different layer. And then sometimes I'll forget to unhide that layer when I save the final product. That happened here, and I completely missed a flower element on the first go around. I fixed that issue, as well as making the spray and ink spot stand out a little better in the revisited version. I never liked the pink banner as it blended into the background a little too much, so I changed it to yellow to match some of the other elements of the page.

...REVISITED, REVAMPED, REDONE: SPARKLE...

Everything about this layout made me happy. You can't really go wrong with purple and my baby girl in purple with her long curls - it's the recipe for a happy me.

But, then this layout also decided it needed a do-over. Fine.

I didn't want to change much with this layout. It was another one that I was pretty happy with the end result the first go around. That being said, I did decide to swap the purple banners for white banners to help it pop a bit more. I also threw in a worded element, I'm loving all the newsprint-type background papers out there lately.

Sometimes these revisits are hard on the emotions. Why do kids have to grow up so quickly? The focus of this layout is now 19 and well on her way to becoming her own woman. She may not care for Strawberry Shortcake anymore, but strawberries are her most favorite food in the entire world, and she's still a big fan of snow, so not everything changes.

Let's talk about the revisit. I changed a bit of the flowers around as I noticed the original version had some blending in with the other elements around them. I never really like that blue banner and felt like it needed something different, so I used ribbons. And as I have a tendency to do, I used a different font for the journaling.

...REVISITED, REVAMPED, REDONE: WONDER BOY...

As I was looking back at the original post for this layout, I realized I didn't mention anything about where this title came from.

As a teen, I fell in love with the song It's My Party by Lesley Gore. It was a popular song in the 60's and I heard the song because my mom's favorite radio station was on that played songs from the 50's to the '70s. I really do appreciate this as it's given me a greater love of music that spans quite a few decades.

I grew up in the days of the CD and for my 16th Christmas, I asked for Lesley Gore's CD that had the song on it. I thought for sure my mom would know who she was, but she didn't. So she asked someone at the music store for help and they had no idea who she was either. My mom eventually found the CD and it was probably my favorite gift that year.

On that album was a song called Wonder Boy. It's all about an intelligent guy, but such a bookworm and lover of learning that he can't/doesn't realize that a girl is crushing on him hard. I promise I wasn't trying to put my 6th-grade kid in that exact position, I just thought it would be a good title for a layout about the awards he received at his 6th-grade graduation night.

This was another layout where I wasn't completely pleased with the end result, so a chance to revisit it was welcomed. Even though I only changed a few things, I was much happier with the revisited layout when those changes were made.

...REVISITED, REVAMPED, REDONE: MOVIE MAGIC...

As I'm starting to post all of these revisions, I'm getting even more upset that I didn't save things like I should have, especially on the layouts where I didn't change a lot. As is the case with Movie Magic.

ORIGINAL

I made very minimal changes with the revisit. I swapped some mat positions and some embellishment positions. Otherwise, it's the same layout.
