...A BIT OF RAIN...

I swear, the weather in 2024 was crazy and super unpredictable and sometimes we paid the price.

One summer evening, Eric and I were just hanging out, minding our business when we heard the wind really start to pick up. We don't have a lot to block the wind where we live, so we can get some crazy windstorms. We had just put a new canopy outside and knew that this wind would take it and fly it to who knows where, so we ran outside to put it away. While we were trying to get it put away the rain started to pour, so we got drenched as well.

Meanwhile, Shaylyn arrived home and noticed that our garbage cans had tipped over and our garbage was all over our neighbor's yard. So Shaylyn went about picking up all the garbage and putting the can back up, but she too got caught in the rain.

We laughed at each other when we saw how drenched we were and I knew it was a good opportunity for a picture. I would have included Eric but, first of all, he doesn't love photos, and secondly, he didn't look quite as drenched as he lacks long hair.

I was super excited to see a rainy weather-type kit come out and I knew exactly where this kit was going to be used.

...CHRISTMAS TEES '14...

I may be wrong because our memories often fail us as we get older, but I think the start of yearly Christmas (and other holidays) t-shirts started at Christmas of 2014.

My mother-in-law and I went shopping for Christmas and ran across a t-shirt with a character from Peanuts on it. Peanuts was one of my late father-in-law's favorite comic strips, so we set about to find more t-shirts with the Peanuts characters on them. We didn't succeed, so we made do with what I was able to find and took family pictures in them a week or so later.

When I find templates allowing multiple photos, I tend to think of doing something with the family like this. So J. Conlon & Son's newest template had me searching for different family photos and because we had just celebrated Christmas, I went with a Christmas page. I was extremely happy with the finished product.

...SNOW FUN...

The older I get, the more I hate the snow and the cold. I remember loving the snow when I was younger and enjoying all there was to do, but now, I just despise it and wish I could move somewhere where snow isn't a thing or it's rarely a thing.

That being said, I do like the fact that my kids have all had the opportunity to enjoy the snow and have fun in it. Some kids still enjoy it as much, if not more, than they did as kids and some of the kids may not enjoy it as much as they once did, but it's still fun to play in on occasion. Plus, because of multiple children and because we live in a state famous for snow, I have plenty of pictures to choose from when it's time to play with a snow-themed digital scrapbook collection.

For this layout, I went with baby girl #2 and one of her first-ish winters. I loved that the colors in this collection went well with the color of my baby girl's coat. And man, how I miss that baby girl. She's pretty amazing as a teen, but there are days I miss her as a baby.

...WELCOME TO 2025...

Welcome to 2025!

Every year for Christmas I make a digital scrapbook calendar for my mom, mother-in-law, and myself. It is a time-consuming process, but I know my mother-in-law always looks forward to it, and I love having a more personal calendar.

I start these sometime in October and though I try to get them finished and ordered before December rolls around, there are times I have to work into December. This year, I had 2 calendars finished by December and just had to wait and paste in a few pictures for my mom, and had hers finished in early December.

Now that Christmas has come and passed, I can share the pages in this year's calendar. Each page was a template from Connie Prince's 2025 Calendar Template Pack. The collections used are posted under each grouping.
