...THAT'S A WRAP: 2024...

Last year I started a project that I still haven't quite finished. One of these days I'll get back to it. But, I am happy to say that I have finished this project for the year 2024. I create a page for every family member with a snapshot from every month of the year. It's been fun to create these pages and to look back at what everyone did during the year.

I try to center these pages with things that interest each person. It's not always an easy task and for a lot of the layouts this year, I focused on their favorite color. And yes, the whole favorite color thing can get difficult as at least three of us have the same favorite color in purple.

I would normally use the same template for all of us, but I created the page for my husband and me for part of my creative team obligations. I ran across the template I used for the kids later on and decided I liked it a bit better.

Anyway, here's the finished product for everyone for 2024. It was a year. And now that I've completed this task, maybe I'll remember that 2023 is sitting 80% finished and actually get it done.

...THE PAWFECT GIFT...

It's always exciting for me when a new kit is released and I automatically know which picture(s) to use it with. This was the case with
Scrapbookcrazy Creations by Robyn's latest release: Animal Tales - Fox.

My youngest's newest animal obsession is foxes. His current dream job is to be an animal rescuer with his main focus to be rescuing foxes. I don't know if that will happen and if there's a need to rescue foxes, I also don't know, but I'm glad he has a dream.

This past Christmas he asked for a stuffed fox, but he had a condition: the fox had to look realistic. His list was full of interesting gift requests and this was just one and I had to laugh. We have a newer Christmas tradition on my side of the family where we draw names and then wrap gifts as crazily as we can think of. My 7-year-old niece got Zach's name and when my little sister asked for ideas, so I told her about Zach's list. She also laughed along with some of his requirements and then went about trying to find the perfect stuffed fox. The first link she sent me was for a taxidermied fox with a price tag of something like $2,000.00!!! That was totally in the price range we set for this crazy gift exchange. HAHAHA!

I wasn't sure exactly what my sister would land on for Zach, but when I saw that little tail sticking out of the packaging, I was excited for Zach. He was in love the moment he opened the package fully and he quickly named the fox and that fox didn't leave his side the whole night. The fox even got to come listen in to a recital for Shaylyn later that night.

This kit is so much fun and I absolutely love the little fox stamps. The little tag element also worked perfectly for this layout about a gift.

...ALWAYS & FOREVER...

The more adventurous part of me wishes I had a reason to dress up fancy, all the time. However, the more realistic (and casual) part of me is glad I don't have to. I really struggled to find a dress for my daughter's wedding back in 2022 and when I did, I still had to have my BFF fix a few things for me. I ended up being so happy with my dress and loved the pictures we got from the photographer.

Sadly, my daughter's marriage didn't last, but there are still many positive feelings for me from that day. I hadn't yet scrapped the pictures of my husband and me from that day, but the Free With Purchase collection for February from Gingerscraps' seemed to be the perfect match for them. And it was pretty fun to scrap these photos and the Anywhere For You photos within a day or so of each other.

...ANYWHERE FOR YOU...

This is another layout that came about all because of an element included in the collection. I think it's funny that that can happen, but I love it when it does. Inspiration comes in many forms.

In the collection Buzzbee Scraps released for February's buffet at Gingerscraps, there are a couple elements of people in black dresses and tuxes. I IMMEDIATELY thought about the pictures from my and my husband's Junior prom during our Senior year. Our school didn't do the whole 'one class only' type formal dances, so it is what it is.

I believe the song chosen was Anywhere For You by The Backstreet Boys. I honestly don't remember the song and/or if that was really the theme, but it's okay. I wasn't a Backstreet fangirl. Now, if we were talking N'Sync, it might be a different story.

But, back to the layout. I really like the way this all came together and the fact that this dance was held in February makes it all the more perfect.

...I GOT YOU, LITTLE BRO...

There are days when I really miss my little babies. There are definitely things I don't miss AT ALL, but there's more that I do miss. One of those things is how sweet my last babies were together. They have always been each other's best friend, although these days, it quickly jumps to them being the worst of enemies.

So I tend to be a bit of a sucker when 'baby-themed' digital scrapbook collections are released. One of the Gingerscraps' daily downloads for February is Good Night Little One by J.B. Studio. This is such a sweet collection, and I knew almost immediately which picture I wanted to use with it.

In the early days of having baby #7, I'd usually take a nap in the late morning. Thankfully, my two little dudes would also nap at this time. One day, we all took our nap in the same bed and I woke before my little ones. When I saw the way my boys were napping, I knew I needed to take a picture. It's still a favorite of mine from that time and will likely be a favorite for all of my life.

...75...

I love to celebrate birthdays, and though I'd love to do extravagant things - it's not really who I am. Plus, I'm an over-thinker so I lose a lot of time just thinking about the 'best' way to decorate and celebrate, and then before I know it, I'm short on time.

My sweet mother-in-law has a birthday only 2 days after one of my kids and we're not usually around her ON her birthday, but this past year my little guys wanted to have a staycation of sorts at grandma's house, so we spent a week with her. Her birthday just happened to fall in this time frame, so I did my best to come up with some way to celebrate her. That story is yet to come.

We left her house to go home the day after her birthday and I realized that we hadn't taken any pictures of her in front of the banner I had inside for her, so I made sure to do that. Well, kiddo #6 decided we needed a couple of other shots and that's where this layout comes in.

The Gingerscraps' challenge reward kit for February 2025 is Birthday Wishes and I thought it'd be fun to work with these photos for this collection. It was fun to work with this collection and to scrap about a birthday that wasn't for one of my kids.

And no, these pictures are far from perfect. The kiddo who insisted we needed these pictures didn't cooperate for pictures very well and his little brother wasn't all that excited to pose. My husband was doing weird things with his tongue, but these are the kinds of photos you get when the only people around to take photographs of the adults, are 11 and under.
